The Church, Culture and Spirits in Adventism in Africa
One of the challenges that the Adventist Church faces in Africa involves those deriving from ingrained traditions and ideologies of the past.
This book contains 12 chapters that examine demonic activities recorded in the Bible and apply that understanding to contemporary spiritualistic manifestations, ancestor worship, and occult practices in that continent. It also offers valuable essays on the role of the individual and the church community in dealing with these manifestations, including the casting out of demons.
Two substantial appendices provide a biblical-theological background as well practical guidelines and recommendations for Christian ministry. These concepts can be applied to other cultural contexts facing similar realities.
